Why Prototype Before Building
A prototype costs a fraction of full development and reveals critical insights about your product's viability. Our Prototyping Process
We start with low-fidelity wireframes that define the information architecture, screen flow, and core interactions. These grayscale sketches are fast to produce and easy to iterate on. We review them with you and adjust until the flow feels right before investing in visual design.
Next, we create high-fidelity mockups in Figma with your brand colors, typography, iconography, and real content. These mockups are pixel-accurate representations of the final app. We connect them into an interactive prototype with realistic transitions, gestures, and micro-animations that you can test on your phone.
User testing sessions with five to eight target users reveal usability issues, confusion points, and delight moments. We observe users interacting with the prototype, note where they hesitate or get lost, and refine the design based on evidence rather than opinion.
From Prototype to Production
Our prototypes are designed to transition smoothly into production development. The component library we create in Figma maps directly to the UI components our developers will build. The screen flow becomes the navigation architecture. The user testing results inform the feature priority for the MVP.
When you approve the prototype and decide to proceed with development, there is no redesign phase. Our developers implement the validated designs while our designers refine edge cases, error states, and secondary flows in parallel. This overlap saves two to four weeks compared to a sequential design-then-develop process.
Prototype Packages
We offer two prototype packages. The Rapid Prototype is a two-week engagement that delivers a clickable Figma prototype covering the core user journey — typically five to ten screens with transitions and basic interactions. This is ideal for concept validation and investor demos.
The Comprehensive Prototype is a four-week engagement that covers the entire application flow including onboarding, core features, settings, error states, and empty states. It includes two rounds of user testing with documented findings and design recommendations. This package is ideal for teams that want to derisk the entire product before committing to a full development budget.
