Backup Strategy
Database point-in-time recovery with automated snapshots. File storage replication to a secondary region. Kubernetes resource exports via Velero. Configuration backed up as infrastructure code in git. Every data layer covered.
Disaster Recovery
We define RPO (how much data you can lose) and RTO (how fast you need to recover) for each service tier. Critical services get multi-region active-passive setups. Standard services get automated restore procedures with tested runbooks.
Testing & Validation
Restore procedures are tested quarterly (or more frequently) using automated scripts. Test restores run in isolated environments to verify data integrity. Recovery time is measured and compared against RTO targets. No surprises during actual incidents.
