DR Assessment and Strategy
We assess your applications and data to determine appropriate RTO and RPO targets for each service tier. Critical transactional systems might require sub-minute RPO and single-digit-minute RTO. Internal tools might tolerate hours of downtime and daily backup granularity. Each tier gets a cost-appropriate DR strategy.
DR strategies range from simple backup-and-restore for non-critical services to active-active multi-site deployments for mission-critical applications. DR Infrastructure Implementation
We build the DR infrastructure — standby servers in a separate AnubizHost location, database replication to the DR site, storage synchronization, DNS failover configuration, and automated switchover scripts. The DR environment mirrors production configuration exactly, maintained through the same infrastructure-as-code pipeline.
Failover automation is key. Manual DR procedures fail under pressure because engineers are stressed, documentation is outdated, and steps get skipped. Our DR failover is a single command that executes a tested sequence: promote database replicas, update DNS records, redirect traffic, verify health, and notify stakeholders. Human judgment initiates the failover; automation executes it reliably.
Regular DR Testing
Untested disaster recovery is wishful thinking. We conduct DR drills on a quarterly or monthly schedule — depending on your compliance requirements. Each drill exercises the full failover process: triggering the switchover, verifying application functionality on the DR site, measuring actual RTO and RPO against targets, and failing back to the primary site.
DR test results are documented in a formal report covering the drill timeline, actual recovery metrics, issues discovered, and corrective actions. Failed drills are as valuable as successful ones because they expose gaps before a real disaster does. We track DR readiness metrics over time and ensure continuous improvement.
Compliance and Documentation
Regulated industries require documented DR plans with evidence of regular testing.
