Supported Database Engines
We manage PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, MongoDB, Redis, Elasticsearch, and ClickHouse. Each engine is installed from official repositories, configured with production-ready defaults, and tuned for your workload characteristics. We do not use forks or custom builds — you get the upstream version with our operational expertise layered on top.
Multi-engine environments are fully supported. Many applications use PostgreSQL for transactional data, Redis for caching and sessions, and Elasticsearch for full-text search. We manage the entire data layer as a cohesive system, handling inter-service networking, connection pooling, and consistent backup schedules across all engines.
High Availability and Replication
Every production database runs with replication enabled. PostgreSQL gets streaming replication with automatic failover via Patroni. MySQL runs in primary-replica configuration with semi-synchronous replication. MongoDB uses replica sets with automatic election. Redis runs in Sentinel mode for automatic failover. The specifics vary by engine, but the result is the same: your database survives a node failure without data loss or extended downtime.
We test failover procedures monthly. Automated failover drills confirm that replicas promote correctly, applications reconnect seamlessly, and monitoring detects the event. You receive a failover test report showing the exact downtime duration and any issues discovered during the drill.
Backups and Point-in-Time Recovery
Automated backups run on configurable schedules — daily full backups with continuous WAL archiving for PostgreSQL, binary log-based point-in-time recovery for MySQL, and oplog-based recovery for MongoDB. Backup integrity is verified automatically through periodic restore tests to isolated environments.
Backup retention policies are configurable from 7 days to 365 days. Backups are encrypted at rest and stored in a geographically separate location from your primary database. Recovery time depends on database size, but we guarantee RTO targets defined in your SLA and conduct regular recovery drills to verify.
Performance Tuning and Query Optimization
We continuously monitor database performance metrics — query latency, connection utilization, lock contention, buffer cache hit rates, replication lag, and disk I/O patterns. When performance degrades, we identify the root cause: slow queries, missing indexes, bloated tables, suboptimal configuration parameters, or hardware resource constraints.
Slow query logs are analyzed weekly, and we provide index recommendations, query rewrite suggestions, and schema optimization advice. For critical performance issues, we work directly with your development team to redesign problematic queries or data access patterns. The goal is a database that stays fast as your data grows.
