What We Deliver
A production-ready n8n deployment with Docker or Kubernetes hosting, PostgreSQL database backend (not SQLite), worker mode for execution scaling, webhook URL configuration with TLS, environment variable management, automated backups of workflows and credentials, monitoring and health checks, and upgrade procedures.
Architecture
We deploy n8n in queue mode with separate main and worker processes. The main process handles the UI, API, and webhook reception. Workers execute workflows from a Redis-backed queue. This architecture lets you scale execution capacity independently of the web interface. PostgreSQL stores workflow definitions, execution history, and encrypted credentials.
Webhook & External Access
n8n's webhook triggers need a publicly accessible URL with TLS. We configure reverse proxy (Caddy, Nginx, or Traefik) with automatic HTTPS, webhook path routing, rate limiting to prevent abuse, and IP allowlisting for known webhook sources. Webhook URLs are stable across deployments — changing them breaks external integrations.
Security Configuration
n8n stores API credentials for connected services — security is critical. We configure: encrypted credential storage with a unique encryption key, basic auth or SSO for the web UI, environment-based credential overrides (production API keys never in the UI), network isolation (n8n accesses the internet but isn't directly exposed), and audit logging for credential access.
Backup & Recovery
Automated PostgreSQL backups capture workflow definitions, credentials, and execution history. n8n CLI export produces portable workflow JSON files stored in Git. Credential encryption keys are backed up separately and securely. Recovery procedures restore both data and configuration. We test recovery to verify backup integrity.
