Offshore Dedicated Servers for Database Hosting

Databases are the core of virtually every application, and they demand hardware that delivers consistent low-latency I/O, reliable memory, and processing power for complex queries. AnubizHost's database-optimized offshore dedicated servers pair high-IOPS NVMe storage with ECC memory and multi-core processors, hosted in privacy-friendly jurisdictions where your data remains under your control and outside the reach of unauthorized access.

Why Host Databases Offshore

Your database contains your most sensitive data — user records, financial transactions, business intelligence, personal information, and proprietary content. When this data sits on a server in a jurisdiction with aggressive surveillance laws, broad subpoena powers, or weak data protection regulations, it is vulnerable to government overreach, corporate espionage, and unauthorized access through legal channels that bypass technical security measures.

Hosting your database offshore places a jurisdictional barrier between your data and entities that might want to access it without your consent. A foreign government cannot simply subpoena your data from an offshore server — they must navigate international legal cooperation frameworks, which involve significantly more scrutiny, time, and procedural safeguards than domestic legal process. This is not about evading legitimate law enforcement but about ensuring that your data receives the due process protections it deserves.

AnubizHost's offshore database servers are located in European jurisdictions with strong data protection laws. GDPR-compliant data handling, constitutional privacy protections, and independent judiciaries create a legal environment where access to your database requires genuine legal justification — not just an informal request or a rubber-stamped warrant from a friendly judge.

Hardware Optimized for Databases

Database performance is overwhelmingly determined by three hardware factors: storage I/O speed, available memory, and CPU core count. Our database-optimized servers address all three with enterprise NVMe SSDs delivering 500,000+ random IOPS, large ECC memory pools that keep working datasets cached in RAM, and multi-core processors that handle concurrent query execution efficiently.

ECC (Error Correcting Code) memory is non-negotiable for database servers. A single-bit memory error can corrupt a database index, a transaction log, or a data page, leading to silent data corruption that might not be detected until it has propagated through your backups. Every AnubizHost server uses ECC memory that detects and corrects single-bit errors automatically, preventing memory-related data corruption entirely.

NVMe storage provides the I/O performance that databases demand. Random read latency under 100 microseconds means index lookups are nearly instantaneous. Write throughput of multiple gigabytes per second ensures that transaction logs, WAL files, and write-heavy operations do not bottleneck your database. For the highest performance, we offer configurations with dedicated NVMe drives for data, logs, and temporary tablespaces, eliminating I/O contention between these different access patterns.

Supported Database Platforms

PostgreSQL is our most popular database platform among offshore hosting customers. Its advanced features — JSONB support, full-text search, PostGIS for geospatial data, logical replication, and row-level security — make it the most versatile open-source database available. Our NVMe servers deliver the I/O performance that PostgreSQL needs for fast query execution, and we provide configuration recommendations for postgresql.conf tuning based on your hardware and workload profile.

MySQL and MariaDB remain widely used for web applications, CMS platforms, and general-purpose databases. Our servers provide the InnoDB buffer pool memory and NVMe I/O throughput that MySQL needs for optimal performance. We support MySQL 8.x, MariaDB 10.x, and Percona Server with XtraDB for customers who need enhanced MySQL performance and monitoring capabilities.

MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and other NoSQL and in-memory databases also run excellently on our hardware. MongoDB benefits from our large memory configurations for its WiredTiger cache, Elasticsearch leverages NVMe for fast index segment reads, and Redis takes advantage of our high-memory configurations for large in-memory datasets. Whatever your database platform, our hardware provides the foundation for optimal performance.

Database Server Configurations

Our entry-level database server includes an Intel Xeon E-2388G (8 cores, 5.1 GHz turbo), 64 GB DDR4 ECC RAM, 2x 1 TB NVMe in RAID 1, and 1 Gbps unmetered bandwidth. This configuration handles small-to-medium databases — up to about 50 GB of active data — with excellent query performance. The RAID 1 storage provides drive-failure resilience, and 64 GB RAM is sufficient to cache typical working datasets entirely in memory.

Mid-range database servers feature AMD EPYC 7313P (16 cores), 128-256 GB ECC RAM, and 4x 1 TB NVMe in RAID 10. The 16 cores handle concurrent query execution for busy databases, while 128-256 GB RAM accommodates larger working datasets in memory. RAID 10 provides both drive redundancy and improved read I/O performance, which directly benefits database query throughput.

Enterprise database servers use AMD EPYC 7443P or 7763 processors with up to 512 GB ECC RAM and 8+ NVMe drives in RAID 10. These configurations handle large databases — hundreds of gigabytes to multiple terabytes — with thousands of concurrent connections and complex query workloads. For the highest availability, we can provision database server pairs for primary/replica replication across different data centers. All database servers include DMCA-ignored policies, IPMI access, and cryptocurrency payment options.
