Every Monero transaction is private by default — ring signatures hide the sender, stealth addresses hide the receiver, and RingCT hides the transaction amount. Monero has native Tor support in its wallet and daemon software. Configure the SOCKS5 proxy to route through Tor, and your Monero activity is invisible to network observers. Zcash's main advantage over Monero is that its zk-SNARK cryptography provides mathematically perfect privacy (versus Monero's statistical privacy from ring signatures). However, Monero's mandatory privacy and larger anonymity set make it the more practical choice for most Tor users.

Litecoin (LTC) with MimbleWimble: Litecoin implemented optional MimbleWimble Extension Blocks (MWEB) that provide transaction privacy. However, like Zcash, the optional nature limits the anonymity set. LTC is widely accepted but not recommended as a primary privacy coin.

Bitcoin with CoinJoin: If you must use Bitcoin, use Wasabi Wallet or JoinMarket for CoinJoin mixing. These tools combine your transaction with others to break the deterministic link between inputs and outputs. Combined with Tor (which both wallets support natively), this provides reasonable Bitcoin privacy — but it is never as strong as Monero's default privacy.

Firo (formerly Zcoin): Uses the Lelantus protocol for strong transaction privacy. Smaller market cap and less liquidity than Monero or Zcash, but the cryptographic privacy guarantees are strong. Useful as a secondary privacy coin.
