Bulletproof hosting is a loaded term used by both legitimate offshore providers and outright criminal infrastructure operators. We use it in the legitimate sense: hosting that doesn't fold to frivolous takedown requests filed without legal due process. Specifically, our Romania bulletproof VPS:
- Ignores DMCA takedowns: Romania doesn't recognize the US Digital Millennium Copyright Act. We respond only to court orders from Romanian courts following EU due process - not to one-line emails from copyright holders or law firms.
- Doesn't honor extraterritorial requests: A US state attorney general's complaint, an Indian arbitration ruling, or a UK injunction is not enforceable in Romania without separate Romanian judicial review - which itself requires a real legal violation under Romanian law, not just a foreign violation.
- No abuse-team auto-suspend: Many 'offshore' hosts have abuse teams that auto-suspend on any volume of complaints to limit their own liability. We don't. We review each complaint manually and only act on legitimate court orders or universally-prohibited content (CSAM, terrorism, direct threats).
What we don't do, even in Romania: host CSAM, terrorism content, or direct threats of violence. These are universal red lines and have nothing to do with jurisdiction.
