What is Cashu
Cashu implements a Chaumian blind-signature ecash protocol on top of Bitcoin Lightning. A mint accepts Lightning sats and issues blind-signed tokens; users redeem those tokens back for Lightning sats. The mint cannot see what users do between issuance and redemption.
Self-Host Reasons
Trust minimization: you do not need to trust a third-party mint operator. Family/community use: small group ecash for closed users. Experimentation: build apps on top of your own mint.
