Bitcoin Full Node Hosting in the Netherlands

Amsterdam is the densest peering hub in Europe. AMS-IX moves over 14Tbps of internet traffic across thousands of networks. For a Bitcoin Core full node, that translates into exceptionally well-connected peer paths to North America, the rest of the EU, and onward to Asia. AnubizHost runs Bitcoin nodes in Amsterdam from $140/mo on enterprise NVMe with no identity verification at signup.

Start a Brief

AMS-IX Peering for Bitcoin

The Bitcoin gossip layer benefits from short, well-peered paths. An Amsterdam node typically holds peers in Frankfurt, London, Stockholm, Toronto, NYC and Singapore within the first 30 minutes after boot. Compact Block propagation latency drops accordingly, which matters if you also run a mining-adjacent service (e.g. Stratum V2 relay).

For pure node operators this is a quality-of-life win: faster IBD because parallel peers serve blocks at LAN speed, faster wallet broadcast confirmation, faster mempool convergence.

Dutch Legal Posture for Node Operators

The Netherlands is an EU member, applies GDPR, and the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens has a documented pattern of challenging over-broad data requests. Civilian content takedown via the AbuseHUB process is well-defined and well-tested. None of this is directly relevant to a Bitcoin node (Bitcoin transactions are not user-generated content the AbuseHUB process targets), but the predictable legal environment matters for operators who care about not waking up to a server seizure over a routing dispute.

Crypto in NL is regulated under the AMLD5/AMLR framework primarily at the exchange and custodian level. Running a personal node has no licensing requirement.

Hardware We Ship

1TB NVMe SSD (PCIe 4.0), 16GB DDR4 ECC RAM, 4 dedicated AMD EPYC or Intel Xeon Gold cores, 1Gbps unmetered bandwidth. Identical to the Romania Bitcoin Full Node spec. The price difference between locations is zero - we charge $140/mo regardless of location for the same hardware class.

For archival workloads (txindex=1, full BIP157 filters, large mempool capacity) we offer a 2TB upgrade at $20/mo extra. Most operators do not need archival; the default 1TB handles standard full node plus 12 months of growth.

Privacy Considerations

A clearnet Bitcoin node in Amsterdam exposes your IPv4 to all 125 inbound peers. That IP geolocates to the Netherlands and resolves to AnubizHost (or your custom rDNS). If your threat model cares about that exposure, run Bitcoin Core in Tor-only mode or behind I2P. We support both - see the Tor-only Bitcoin Core guide for configuration.

Billing happens in BTC, XMR or LN. We never ask for ID. The link between your wallet and the IP is your own operational decision.

Buy and Deploy

Order from Bitcoin Full Node product page, pay in BTC/XMR/LN, receive credentials within 20 minutes via PGP-encrypted email. Bitcoin Core 28.x ships pre-installed with sane defaults; you can wipe and start from scratch with full root access.

Sibling pages: Romania Bitcoin node, Netherlands Monero node, pruned mode setup.
