Electrum Personal Server Hosting
Electrum Personal Server (EPS) is a single-user Electrum server backend designed to work with a watch-only descriptor list. It gives you private Electrum wallet sync without exposing your transaction history to public Electrum servers. AnubizHost hosts EPS alongside a Bitcoin Core archival node from $140/mo.
Need this done for your project?
We implement, you ship. Async, documented, done in days.
Why EPS Over Electrs
EPS is single-user: you provide a list of xpubs/descriptors at startup and it only indexes those. Storage requirement is minimal (a few hundred MB beyond the Bitcoin Core chain itself). Electrs and Fulcrum, in contrast, build a full address index over the entire chain and can serve any wallet, but require 100GB+ extra storage.
For personal use, EPS is the right choice. For powering many wallets, choose Electrs or Fulcrum.
Requirements
EPS requires Bitcoin Core archival (txindex=1) underneath. Our archival plan covers this. Our default install ships EPS configured to listen on 127.0.0.1 only; you tunnel via SSH from your Electrum desktop client.
Configuration Flow
Provision Bitcoin Core archival. Wait for IBD. Add EPS systemd unit. Add your watch-only descriptors to ~/.electrum-personal-server/config.cfg. Restart EPS. Initial address scan typically completes in 1-2 hours per descriptor.
