Windows Server licensing on dedicated hardware works differently from VPS licensing. On dedicated servers, you have the option to bring your own Windows license (BYOL) or purchase licensing through AnubizHost. BYOL is the recommended approach for clients who already have Windows Server licenses through volume licensing agreements, as it reduces the total monthly cost significantly.

AnubizHost provisions Windows Server 2019 or 2022 Datacenter edition on your dedicated hardware. The installation includes all standard Windows Server roles and features. Remote Desktop Services, IIS, MSSQL Server, and other Windows-native services are available and fully configurable after provisioning.

Hardware specifications for Windows dedicated servers match our Linux configurations. Modern CPUs, ECC RAM, NVMe storage, and 1Gbps uplinks are standard. Windows requires more RAM than Linux for equivalent workloads, so we recommend starting with at least 32GB RAM for production Windows servers.

Full Remote Desktop Protocol access is included with all Windows dedicated servers. Your server is immediately accessible via RDP using the Administrator credentials provided at provisioning. We configure RDP to run on the standard port or a custom port of your choosing - a custom port is recommended to reduce automated brute-force attempts.

IPMI remote management is also included, providing out-of-band console access even if Windows becomes unresponsive or if you need to perform operations that require console-level access. The IPMI interface allows you to view the screen at any point in the boot process, including before Windows loads.

For clients who prefer not to use RDP, other remote management tools are available. Windows Remote Management (WinRM), SSH via OpenSSH Server (built into Windows Server 2022), and VNC are all configurable on your dedicated Windows server without additional cost.

Windows dedicated servers in offshore environments serve several distinct use cases. Game servers for titles that require Windows - many popular game server binaries are Windows-only - benefit from the combination of dedicated hardware performance and DMCA-ignored policies.
