TimescaleDB Hosting on Offshore VPS

TimescaleDB is the PostgreSQL extension that turns standard PostgreSQL into a high-performance time series database, with hypertables that automatically partition by time and space, continuous aggregates for rollups, and native compression that reaches 90 to 95 percent ratios on typical metrics workloads. Running it on managed Timescale Cloud means metered storage and metered compute on someone else's infrastructure. Our offshore TimescaleDB VPS lets you install PostgreSQL and the timescaledb extension from the official repo, deploy on NVMe storage with dedicated RAM, and own every byte of your time series data.

Start a Brief

Hypertables on NVMe Storage

TimescaleDB hypertables partition data into chunks by time interval, and each chunk is a regular PostgreSQL table on disk. Insert performance scales linearly with the number of chunks because writes always land in the most recent chunk, which stays hot in cache. NVMe storage keeps chunk creation, index updates and WAL writes fast even at 100k rows per second sustained ingest. Native columnar compression kicks in after a chunk ages past the compression policy threshold, typically reducing disk footprint by an order of magnitude while keeping query performance acceptable for historical analysis. You configure chunk interval per hypertable based on retention and access patterns.

Continuous Aggregates and Memory

Continuous aggregates are materialized rollups maintained incrementally as new data arrives, letting you query pre-computed daily, hourly or per-minute summaries instantly even across years of raw data. Maintaining them requires PostgreSQL background workers and enough shared_buffers and work_mem to evaluate the aggregation queries efficiently. Our dedicated RAM VPS lets you size these parameters generously, typically shared_buffers at 25 percent of RAM and work_mem at 32 to 128 MB per worker. The result is fresh continuous aggregates that never fall behind the ingest rate, and instant dashboard queries against years of compressed history.

Retention Policies and Offshore Privacy

TimescaleDB retention policies drop old chunks automatically based on a configured time threshold, and compression policies convert older chunks to columnar format. Combined, these let you keep months or years of raw data online at low storage cost. Our offshore VPS in Iceland, Romania and the Netherlands gives you that storage at predictable monthly cost in crypto, with no per-GB metered charges. Time series workloads often track sensitive signals, infrastructure metrics, user telemetry, financial ticks, and keeping them on Five Eyes cloud exposes the data to compulsory disclosure orders. Our jurisdictions require domestic court orders with named scope.
