Pool Concept
Pool is a sealed-bid auction marketplace. Sellers commit channels (leased for fixed terms) and earn yield. Buyers acquire inbound liquidity at known cost. Auction batches periodically settle on-chain.
Why Run as Seller
If your routing node has excess outbound liquidity, selling that capacity via Pool can generate predictable yield without dependence on routing fees. Counterparty risk is minimized via HTLC-based channel locks.
Buy as Buyer
If you run a merchant Lightning node and need inbound capacity, Pool is more predictable than self-managed inbound rebalancing. Buy inbound for a fixed term, plan accordingly.
