Bridges to IRC, Telegram, Discord, Signal and others extend Matrix to other protocols. They run alongside the homeserver and consume modest resources per bridge. The Pro tier accommodates a homeserver plus several active bridges. For Synapse, configure Postgres with reasonable autovacuum settings to prevent table bloat over time. Snapshot backups before major Synapse version upgrades to allow fast rollback.
