Anti-Tap Call Relay in Romania for Sensitive Comms
An anti-tap call relay combines TLS for signalling, SRTP for media, ZRTP for endpoint-to-endpoint key agreement, and a jurisdiction that does not pre-archive metadata. Romania's no-blanket-retention regime plus our hardened Asterisk build give an operator the technical and legal posture to push back against passive-tap and metadata-fishing scenarios.

What 'Anti-Tap' Actually Defends Against
Passive network observers seeing SIP signalling in cleartext, opportunistic media capture, commercial carrier-side metadata harvesting, and infrastructure-side log retention beyond what is necessary. It does not defend against compelled lawful access, against endpoint compromise, or against social-engineering attacks.
Technical Stack
SIP TLS 1.3 mandatory. SRTP for all media. ZRTP for end-to-end key agreement between supporting endpoints (Linphone, Jitsi). PJSIP with strict authentication. Asterisk dialplan that does not write call recordings unless explicitly opted in per call.
CDR and Log Minimisation
Default Asterisk verbose logging is excessive for sensitive workloads. We tune verbose to 0, debug to 0, and CDR retention to 14 days. Log files rotate daily and are deleted after 30 days. If you need shorter, configure accordingly.
Romania Legal Floor
No blanket data retention since 2009 Constitutional Court ruling. Lawful access requires specific court orders. We respond narrowly and only to lawful orders.
Operational Honesty
If your threat model includes the infrastructure operator, ZRTP between endpoints is mandatory. Asterisk cannot transcode an end-to-end encrypted call. Match codecs end-to-end (Opus to Opus, or G.711 to G.711) to preserve E2E.
