Quick start on Ubuntu: (1) apt update && apt install tor -y. (2) Edit /etc/tor/torrc: add Nickname YourRelayName, ContactInfo your@email, RelayBandwidthRate 10 MBytes, RelayBandwidthBurst 20 MBytes, ORPort 9001, ExitRelay 0. (3) systemctl restart tor. (4) Check logs: journalctl -u tor - look for 'Self-testing indicates your ORPort is reachable'. Done. Your relay is now contributing to the network. Check relay status at metrics.torproject.org after ~30 minutes.
