Dedicated Servers for VPN Providers
Running your own VPN service — whether as a commercial provider or a private multi-location deployment for yourself and your close circle — starts with picking the right hardware and the right jurisdiction. AnubizHost dedicated servers are tuned for VPN workloads: Intel Xeon and AMD EPYC processors with AES-NI, unmetered 1-10 Gbps uplinks that handle sustained encrypted traffic, and offshore jurisdictions (Iceland, Finland, Netherlands, Romania) where no-logs policies are legally defensible rather than merely marketed. WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec/IKEv2, SoftEther, and Xray/VLESS can be pre-installed on delivery. Plans start at $89/mo with crypto billing and no KYC.

Why Dedicated Hardware Matters for VPN
VPN workloads look simple on paper and punish poorly-provisioned hardware in practice. Encryption and decryption of every packet at wire speed demands CPUs with AES-NI (Intel) or the equivalent AMD extensions, and while any modern chip supports these instructions, performance varies dramatically under concurrent-connection load. WireGuard scales well on single cores up to about 1 Gbps, then needs careful multi-queue and CPU pinning to scale beyond. OpenVPN is single-threaded per tunnel and hits limits sooner. IPsec scales with hardware offload but benefits from specific NIC support.
The other half of the equation is the network pipe. A 1 Gbps port with 100 concurrent VPN users pulling video traffic will saturate instantly, so commercial VPN deployments need 10 Gbps unmetered ports from day one. Private deployments (personal or small-team) fit comfortably on 1 Gbps with room to spare. Our VPN-oriented dedicated servers offer both tiers, and every tier ships with genuine unmetered bandwidth rather than burst-and-throttle marketing.
Running on dedicated hardware (rather than a shared VPS) also eliminates an entire class of privacy concerns: there is no hypervisor operator with visibility into your RAM, no noisy-neighbor side-channels, and no shared kernel that could be compromised by another tenant. For VPN operators this is not optional — it is the baseline.
Supported VPN Stacks and Pre-Installation
AnubizHost supports every mainstream VPN stack and will pre-install on request. WireGuard is our default recommendation for speed and simplicity — we ship it with wg-quick configuration files, IPv4 and IPv6 routing, and sensible MTU defaults. OpenVPN is available in UDP and TCP flavors with a starter server config, client-config directory, and easyRSA setup. IPsec/IKEv2 via strongSwan is supported for customers who need iOS/macOS compatibility without extra client software.
For customers operating in censorship-heavy markets, we pre-install Xray with VLESS+Reality for genuinely undetectable tunneling, V2Ray with VMess, Shadowsocks, and Trojan. These stacks look like HTTPS traffic on the wire and defeat most deep-packet-inspection firewalls, making them essential for VPN providers targeting customers in Iran, China, and similar environments.
SoftEther is supported for customers running legacy deployments or complex site-to-site topologies. If you have a custom VPN stack (Algo, Outline, Mullvad-style wg-portal, or a proprietary solution), our engineers will work with you during onboarding to get it installed cleanly.
Every VPN server is delivered hardened by default: SSH key-only, fail2ban, UFW firewall configured for the VPN ports only, kernel tuning for high connection count (nf_conntrack, somaxconn, tcp_max_syn_backlog), and sysctl tuning for IP forwarding and BBR congestion control.
VPN Server Pricing and Plans
VPN pricing follows our standard dedicated server tiers because VPN workloads scale linearly with capacity. The Starter plan at $89/mo — Intel Xeon E-2388G, 64 GB RAM, 2x 1 TB NVMe, 1 Gbps unmetered — handles a small commercial VPN deployment (200-500 concurrent users) or a private family/team setup with comfortable headroom. The Performance tier at $129/mo — AMD EPYC 7313P, 128 GB RAM, 2x 1.92 TB NVMe, 1 Gbps unmetered — suits mid-size deployments targeting 1,000-2,000 concurrent users. The Pro tier at $199/mo — AMD EPYC 7443P, 256 GB RAM, 4x 3.84 TB NVMe, 10 Gbps unmetered — handles heavy commercial deployments with 3,000+ concurrent users.
| Plan | CPU | RAM | Network | Target Concurrency | Price |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| VPN Starter | Intel Xeon E-2388G | 64 GB DDR4 | 1 Gbps unmetered | 200-500 users | $89/mo |
| VPN Performance | AMD EPYC 7313P | 128 GB DDR4 ECC | 1 Gbps unmetered | 1,000-2,000 users | $129/mo |
| VPN Pro | AMD EPYC 7443P | 256 GB DDR4 ECC | 10 Gbps unmetered | 3,000+ users | $199/mo |
Multi-location deployments (common for commercial VPN providers) get volume pricing: three or more nodes in different jurisdictions unlock approximately 10% off per node. Crypto payments (Bitcoin, Monero, Litecoin, Ethereum) are accepted at every tier, and we do not require KYC for VPN operators.
Delivery Time and VPN-Specific Setup
Standard VPN server provisioning completes in 24 to 48 hours. Delivery includes a hardened OS (Debian 12 or Ubuntu 24.04 LTS by default), pre-installed VPN stack of your choice, reverse DNS configured for your domain, IPMI access, and a kernel tuned for VPN workloads. For commercial VPN operators we can additionally pre-install a management panel — Outline Manager, Algo's output format, or a custom portal — and configure automatic certificate renewal for protocols that use TLS.
If you are migrating from another VPN hosting provider, we can replicate your configuration onto the new server: same WireGuard keys, same OpenVPN certificates, same user database. This keeps existing client devices working without reconfiguration during a provider change.
For operators running multi-country VPN networks, we offer consistent provisioning across all our jurisdictions (Iceland, Finland, Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria), so your Ansible playbooks or Terraform modules will work identically against any AnubizHost location.
Why AnubizHost for VPN Hosting
A no-logs policy is only as meaningful as the jurisdiction backing it. A VPN hosted on US infrastructure with a no-logs marketing claim is still one NSL away from having logs retroactively collected. AnubizHost's offshore jurisdictions — Iceland, Finland, Netherlands, Romania, Bulgaria — have either no mandatory data retention laws (Romania's Constitutional Court struck theirs down twice) or data retention frameworks that do not apply to hosting providers acting as infrastructure-only.
We operate with no KYC for VPN customers, accept Bitcoin and Monero for maximum payment privacy, and do not retain customer data beyond what operational billing requires. Our terms of service prohibit genuinely illegal use (CSAM, terrorism, fraud) but treat VPN operation as a legitimate business and do not forward DMCA notices from foreign rights holders.
Operationally, we understand VPN workloads because we run our own internal VPN for staff on the same infrastructure you rent. Our support team is familiar with WireGuard, OpenVPN, IPsec, and the Xray/VLESS stack, so when you file a ticket about MTU issues or conntrack saturation, you are talking to someone who knows what those things mean. For VPN providers serious about building something durable, AnubizHost is the right foundation.
