InfluxDB Time Series Hosting on Offshore VPS

InfluxDB is the purpose-built time series database used for metrics, monitoring, IoT telemetry and real-time analytics. InfluxDB Cloud meters every measurement and every query, with bills that escalate as your retention and cardinality grow. Our offshore InfluxDB VPS hosting gives you a dedicated server where you install InfluxDB 2.x or the newer 3.x with full root access, NVMe storage tuned for the WAL and TSM file writes, and dedicated RAM for the in-memory cache. Deployed in Iceland, Romania or the Netherlands with crypto-only billing.

Start a Brief

TSM Storage Engine on NVMe

InfluxDB uses the Time-Structured Merge tree storage engine, which writes incoming points to a Write Ahead Log and an in-memory cache, then flushes to immutable TSM files that are compacted in the background. This pattern is similar to LSM trees in RocksDB and benefits hugely from NVMe storage. Sustained ingest rates of hundreds of thousands of points per second per node are achievable on a mid tier VPS, with compaction running cleanly in the background without saturating disk channels. Query performance against recent data is dominated by the in-memory cache, while historical queries hit the compressed TSM files at NVMe speed.

Cardinality and Memory Tuning

The most important sizing factor for InfluxDB is series cardinality, the number of unique tag combinations in your dataset. High cardinality drives memory usage for the in-memory index, and exceeding RAM forces spill to disk which hurts query performance. Our dedicated RAM VPS plans scale to 64 GB, supporting millions of unique series on a single node. You configure index-version=tsi1 to use the disk-resident index for very high cardinality datasets, trading query latency for memory savings. Retention policies and downsampling tasks reduce long-term storage cost by aging out detailed data and keeping only rollups.

Multi-Region Replication and Privacy

InfluxDB Open Source does not include native clustering in 2.x, but you can replicate data between instances using subscriptions or by writing the same points to multiple nodes from your collector layer. Deploying primary and replica instances across our Iceland, Romania and Netherlands VPS gives you geographic redundancy across three jurisdictions. Telemetry data often reveals sensitive operational patterns, infrastructure topology, user activity, financial transaction rates. Keeping it on Five Eyes cloud exposes those patterns to compulsory disclosure. Our offshore locations require domestic court orders, and crypto-only billing keeps your deployment private.
