Monero Pruned Node Hosting
Pruned monerod retains only enough chain history to fully verify new blocks (around 1/8 of the chain) while keeping the full UTXO and blockchain header state. Disk usage drops to roughly 35-45GB versus 220GB for full archival. AnubizHost hosts pruned Monero nodes on NVMe from $140/mo.

What Monero Pruning Does
--prune-blockchain in monerod retains ~1/8 of historical block data while keeping full verification capability. New blocks are fully validated. Wallet sync still works (slightly slower for very old wallet histories). Network contribution slightly reduced since pruned nodes only serve their retained blocks.
When Pruned Makes Sense
You want a Monero node for personal wallet use and do not care about serving historical data to the network. You have disk constraints. You run Monero alongside other workloads and want lower IO pressure.
When To Stick With Full
You serve other Monero users (public remote node), you need historical data for analytics, you run a P2Pool or merchant pipeline that benefits from full history.
Buy
$140/mo (storage savings do not change pricing; you get the same hardware). See archival overview.
