Private .tk Domain Registration: Honest Evaluation
.tk is Tokelau's ccTLD. It became famous as the free-domain TLD via Freenom, and Freenom's collapse in 2023 left the .tk ecosystem in transition. As of 2026 .tk registrations are available but the TLD carries a heavy reputational cost in spam filters and browser safety lists. This page is honest about whether .tk is worth using in 2026.

The Freenom Aftermath
Freenom mismanaged .tk for years and the TLD ended up overrun with phishing and spam. The 2023 Meta lawsuit and subsequent operational changes left the .tk registration channel disrupted. Some registration availability returned in 2025-2026 through alternative paths.
Reputational Cost
Gmail, Microsoft 365, Cloudflare's WAF, and most enterprise filters score .tk extremely skeptically. Browser safety lists frequently include broad .tk warnings. If your project depends on direct email or organic discovery, .tk will hurt you.
When .tk Might Still Make Sense
Almost never for production projects in 2026. The privacy benefit of a non-Western ccTLD is outweighed by the reputational tax. We would rather sell you a .org or .info than a .tk.
If You Insist
We can register .tk through paid channels with WHOIS privacy and crypto payment. We will note the reputational risks at the order step.
