Encrypted VPS in Romania
Server encryption in combination with Romanian jurisdiction and no-KYC provisioning provides a defense-in-depth privacy posture. Even in the event of a physical data center seizure (unlikely but theoretically possible), encrypted storage prevents data extraction without the decryption key you control. LUKS Encryption on Romania VPS
Full-disk encryption using LUKS (Linux Unified Key Setup) can be configured at provisioning time or after. The base OS image uses unencrypted root for standard operation; customers who need encryption can:
- Provision a minimal base OS, then configure LUKS on a secondary data volume for sensitive storage.
- Rebuild from a LUKS-encrypted image (requires VNC access for passphrase entry at boot - request VNC console access via ticket).
We recommend LUKS for data-at-rest protection on storage volumes containing sensitive application data, databases, or user content.
Transport Encryption
All network traffic to/from your Romania VPS is under your control. Standard configurations:
- SSH connections are encrypted by default. Use ed25519 keys for strong authentication.
- Web applications should run behind TLS (Let's Encrypt certificates, Certbot automates this).
- WireGuard VPN for encrypted tunneling between servers or from end users to your VPS.
