.com Registration Without KYC at the Hosting Layer
There are two layers at which KYC could be imposed on a .com registration: the hosting/billing layer and the registrar/registry layer. We do not impose KYC at the hosting layer - you can buy a .com with a fresh email and crypto and we will not ask for ID. The registrar layer is ICANN-governed and requires accurate registrant data. We explain exactly which fields are required and how WHOIS privacy keeps them off the public record.

Our KYC Posture
For domain registration at our pricing, we ask for a working email (any email - ProtonMail, Tutanota, your own self-hosted, anything routable). We never ask for government ID, never ask for a phone number, never ask for a billing address that matches a card. Payment is crypto-only by default. This is the standard we hold for the whole hosting product line, and domains are part of it.
Why ICANN Still Wants Registrant Data
ICANN's contract with .com registrars (Verisign downstream) requires that registrant contact data is accurate and reachable. WARS audits twice a year sample compliance. Our registrar passes audits because we provide either your real legal entity data behind the proxy, or a verifiable corporate proxy. We will not invent fake data for you - that gets domains suspended.
The Proxy Layer Explained
Our privacy proxy is a real legal entity reachable by mail and email. Public WHOIS shows the proxy. ICANN audits resolve to the proxy. Court orders escalate to the proxy and onward to you, but only with valid legal process.
What This Means in Practice
Almost no operator we serve ever has their identity exposed by routine WHOIS lookups, brand-protection scrapers, or spammers. The few cases where identity has been disclosed have involved formal subpoenas. WHOIS privacy plus crypto payment defeats the casual threat completely.
Pair with our anonymous hosting for full-stack consistency.
