Broker Architecture
The broker runs an HTTPS endpoint that accepts client offers and proxy availability announcements, matches them, and returns connection details. It is a coordination service, not a data-plane service: traffic does not flow through the broker. Throughput requirements are modest; availability and DDoS resilience requirements are high.
Operational Considerations
Running an alternative broker requires a domain with valid TLS, public reachability from censored clients (often via domain fronting), and coordination with the Snowflake client codebase to recognize the new broker endpoint. This is not a casual deployment; we work with operators who have established Snowflake-ecosystem standing.
