Carrier-Side TLS Reach
Most AMS-IX SIP wholesalers support SIP TLS on the peering interface, though many require pre-arrangement. Without TLS on the carrier leg, your encryption stops at the PBX. Document which carriers support TLS and prefer them for sensitive workloads.
SRTP and DTLS-SRTP
SDES-keyed SRTP works for most softphones. DTLS-SRTP is the WebRTC standard and works with browser-based clients. Asterisk supports both. For mixed browser plus hardware phone deployments, DTLS-SRTP is the lowest-friction choice.
