Poker traffic is small in bandwidth (a few KB/s per active table) but extremely latency-sensitive and jitter-sensitive. The same operator runs heavy batch jobs at night (hand history mining, collusion graph analysis, bot detection ML). Network tuning
We set kernel parameters for low-latency operation (busy_read, busy_poll, RPS/RFS), pin network IRQs to dedicated cores and reserve cores for the gameplay process. WebSocket connections from European players average 20 to 50 ms RTT.
