Constitutional Telecom Confidentiality
Section 10 of the Finnish Constitution protects telecommunications confidentiality. The Information Society Code (917/2014) implements this for the digital era. For FreePBX operators handling CDR data, this means retention beyond operational necessity needs justification, and over-broad data requests can be challenged on constitutional grounds.
In practice the protection is most relevant when responding to lawful access requests. The threshold for compelled disclosure is meaningfully higher than in jurisdictions with no constitutional telecom secrecy.
