The Digital Millennium Copyright Act is a United States federal law. It gives copyright holders the ability to send takedown notices to hosting providers, who must remove the content or face legal liability. US-based hosting providers comply with DMCA notices automatically and immediately - often without any verification that the claim is legitimate.
DMCA ignored hosting operates in jurisdictions where the DMCA has no legal standing. AnubizHost servers are located in European countries with their own copyright frameworks that require proper judicial process before content can be removed. A DMCA notice sent to our abuse desk is treated as what it is in our jurisdiction: a foreign legal document with no binding authority.
This does not mean we operate lawlessly. We comply with valid legal requests from courts in our operating jurisdictions. However, we do not act on unverified claims from foreign entities, automated takedown bots, or copyright trolls. Content stays online unless a competent local court orders its removal through proper due process.
