Supported Tor Infrastructure Types
We support all standard Tor network roles:
- Middle relays: Forward encrypted Tor traffic between nodes. No external traffic, minimal abuse complaints. Ideal entry point for new Tor operators.
- Guard relays: Entry point into the Tor network for clients. Same operational profile as middle relays but higher consensus bandwidth weight.
- Exit nodes: Forward traffic to the open internet on behalf of Tor users. Generates abuse complaints from scanning activity. We handle exit node complaints manually under our jurisdiction policy, not with auto-termination.

How We Handle Exit Node Abuse Complaints

We don't auto-suspend exit nodes. Manual review for every complaint. This requires more staff time per complaint but is the only operationally correct approach for Tor exit operators.
