Cam Backend Workload Profile
A modest cam platform pushes 50-300 concurrent live streams plus 500-2000 concurrent viewers. The transcode layer is the bottleneck: each ingested RTMP stream often becomes three to five derivative bitrates for adaptive playback. ffmpeg with x264 preset veryfast eats roughly 1 dedicated core per 720p30 derivative.

Ingest Stack Recommendations
nginx-rtmp-module is fine for small platforms but goes out of maintenance. We recommend SRS (Simple Realtime Server) 5.x for new deployments. SRS handles RTMP ingest, HLS/LL-HLS / WebRTC output, and integrates with ffmpeg per-stream. The latency floor on WebRTC output is around 500ms which is what cam-tip economics need.
For larger platforms we ship an Ant Media Server appliance variant on dedicated hardware at the Romania location.
Jurisdiction and Payment Processing
Romania is in the EU SEPA zone but its banks are less likely than UK or DE banks to refuse adult-coded MCC traffic. Most cam platforms still use specialist adult processors (CCBill, Epoch, NETbilling) regardless of location, and Romania is fully compatible with those acquirers.
