Russian-language opposition outlets face three distinct pressure types. First, technical blocking by Roskomnadzor via deep packet inspection. Second, civil and criminal cases under the foreign agent and undesirable organization laws, targeting staff personally. Third, social engineering against staff abroad - including hostile takeover attempts on Telegram channels and domain registrars. The hosting layer addresses only the first vector. Stack hardening for the other two is your job. We push the first vector outside Russia by placing the VPS in Iceland or Romania, with the registrar in a jurisdiction that does not enforce Russian civil judgments.
Static-first publishing stack
