meek-azure Bridge VPS
meek tunnels Tor traffic through a CDN front (historically Azure, hence meek-azure). When a censor blocks obfs4 on direct IP-port pairs but cannot afford to block the entire CDN, meek punches through. Operating a meek bridge requires both a server VPS and a configured CDN front; we provide the VPS half and document the CDN setup. meek throughput is much lower than obfs4 throughput, so it serves users for whom no other transport works.

How meek Works
The client sends Tor cells encapsulated in HTTPS to a CDN front domain. The CDN forwards by SNI match to a meek-server bound to your VPS. To a censor observing the client's traffic, only the CDN domain is visible, not the meek-server endpoint.
Domain fronting was widely shut down by major CDNs (Google, AWS) in 2018. Azure retained partial support, hence meek-azure remains operational in 2026 albeit with reduced reach. Operators frequently rotate CDN accounts because Azure terms-of-service enforcement is inconsistent.

When meek Beats obfs4
obfs4 fails when the censor blocks all unknown encrypted protocols on all ports. meek survives because the censor must either block the CDN entirely (which breaks legitimate services) or allow the Tor traffic through. The trade-off is much lower throughput: meek is typically 2 to 10x slower than obfs4 due to CDN-tunneling overhead and the meek request-pacing model.
